It's about the clothes. Not the girl. But that's the fun of it. So just keep guessing...

Crazy

Hi everyone! Sorry for a delayed post. Is it just me or are April and May THE craziest months? It's ridiculous. In honor of that, I picked a casual outfit to convey the craziness we all have to go through! Just kidding... I'm actually just too lazy and busy to put together a meaningful outfit. So I better get on that for my next post :) I hope the crazy months aren't getting the best of you (or your outfits...;)) Have a great weekend!

Grace

I hope everyone had a great Easter holiday:) I was so blessed to be able to spend some time with family all day -- it was so nice! I tried to base today's look off of abstract artwork. I love the deep contrasts in abstract works paired with the many parallels in coloring. So I made a big contrast between black and cobalt, but I tried to soften it with multiple appearances of silver! Diamonds are a girls best friend? Well so is silver. Every woman looks good with some silver accessories! I was feeling so elegant and graceful in this flowy outfit up until I fell... I flat out fell while walking in the heels! I was leaving the place where I took these photos, and walking through the grass became pretty tough. Finally, my ankle gave and I ended up on my knees in the grass!! Don't let the grace of the outfit get to your head like I did... Karma always finds its humorous ways into our lives :)

One of those days

Today is just one of those days. In a good way though:) It's one of those days where I just appreciated some of the wonderful things I've been blessed with. I love days like this! Because there are definitely way too many times when I am unappreciative and so eeyore-like. Anyway, I wanted my outfit to reflect my cheery (possibly over-optimistic?) mood today!! Of course I needed some yellow for the ongoing happiness, so I used that in my belt. The striped dress gave the simplicity I needed to balance out all of the crazy colors! These almond-shaped indigo flats are amazing. I got them from H&M about two years ago, and I couldn't begin to count how many times I've worn them! Finally, for my bag I decided to go with a (I can't believe I'm actually saying this) matchy tote. Usually I love color "pops" and neutrals, but matching?!? Definitely not my typical style. But today it just fit the look, and I wasn't opposed...believe it or not!

Nail Enough

I usually like to do only outfit posts, but today I wanted to make it "nail enough" for those of you who like just the nail posts!:) Geometric patterns are one of those fashion trends that I think we can extend beyond clothing, including nails, makeup, etc. I decided to put a spin on the basic geometric trend with this gorgeous pink glitter polish! I also love the monochromatic look, which is why I decided to go with three different shades of pink. This is a really easy manicure, so I encourage you guys to try it! Have a great day :)

Wish List

Just wanted to do a short post on some of my spring favorites! I'd love to get any of these lovelies for spring!! As you can all tell, my wish-list is predominately light, pastel colors. I've been loving the ethereal, flowy trends for spring. The heels (number 5) are the only ones that are bold, but pair them with a white dress and you've got a beautiful spring look! So tell me, what's on your spring wish-list?

Summer Lovin'

A few things I've learned about summer clothing....

1. Wear what YOU want to wear! Summer is deceivingly difficult because 1) there's a lot less to wear and 2) shorts are difficult to style. But I think you should be in control of what you wear, without worrying if the shorts look too juvenile, long, baggy, etc. You all can rock those shorts, I know it! I like to follow the current trends and then adapt my shorts inventory to those trends. If you're comfy and confident, you look fabulous.

2. Don't be afraid to wear more simple outfits. As fashion-lovers, we all like to layer shirts, necklaces, shoes, everything! But in the summer, layering a lot of items gets to be uncomfortable. I was fortunate enough to be able to layer today, but in the mid-90 July humidity I'd stick with the high waisted shorts, white tee, and belt. Sometimes less is more, and this definitely applies to summer outfits!

3. Dresses in the summer are great!! One seemingly obvious thing that I just recently picked up on is that dresses are sheer perfection in the summer. They're breathable, wearable, and adorable! (I totally planned this sentence to include three "-able"s)

4. If you've got it, flaunt it. Good news is everyone has something to flaunt! Whether we realize it or not, we all have certain beauties to our bodies. I used to envy some of those celebrities with the seemingly perfect bodies, but then I realized how fake that is. Hello, no one has a butt like Kim Kardashian's, stomach as flat as a seven year old's stomach, and boobs the size of Kate Upton's. So let's stop living up to those standards. Instead, let's realize the true beauty among us...starting with ourselves! Since everyone is beautiful in one way or another, then we all need to flaunt it. Chins up, keep confident, and flaunt away!:)

Here's something that just goes to show how much of an impact (a fake one!) photoshop can make. No one looks completely perfect naturally, so the editors photoshopped this Katy Perry... Even though she is naturally beautiful without any photoshop. It really puts it into perspective!

April Showers

It's one of those gloomy depressing days outside, if you can't completely tell by the pictures. Don't you hate those days? Even if I'm having a great day, the dark skies tend to bring my mood down! But April showers bring May flowers :) That always keeps me going. In anticipation for those May flowers, I decided to wear a nice floral shirt today under my black blazer. Thank goodness I was able to snap these pictures before it started pouring! Have a great day!

Bird Chase

Hello! I hope you're all having great weekends:) Today's post unfortunately is very short, because of a little situation I had while taking the photos! I began to take them (and today I had to take them myself using a tripod), and all of a sudden a tiny bird who was struggling to fly started falling off a roof nearby. I was about to help it when three crows flocked over and cornered me where I had been taking pictures. I don't know about you guys but birds and their scary looking beaks tend to freak me out! So I scooped up all of my stuff and ran away...even though they were probably harmless. Oh well, it makes for a good story at least! :) I apologize for the lack of pictures, though!
