In Remembrance

Hello, all! Happy Memorial Day. This post is dedicated to all of those who died while serving our beautiful country in war. It's amazing how easily this day is regarded as a regular holiday, or a "day-off."  I certainly am guilty of forgetting the significance of today! So thank you to any of you who have served in the military, known someone who died/was injured in the military, or have taken care of someone who served our country. Please know that you are very important, and your job has given our country freedom, happiness, love, and comfort -- the blessings that not everyone is fortunate enough to have. I wish you a great, safe Memorial Day. Thank you.

High Waves

Today's post deals with a new trend that I'm not completely sold on... High waisted bottoms! Don't get me wrong, I love them and I have many pairs of them. But I'm not quite sure I'd consider these as practical. I think stores should still have a nice balance between different waist types in shorts (low, mid, and high mainly). Some days are perfect for a pair of funky high rise shorts and a bohemian flowy top. Other days, we just want a practical tee-and-jeans look! Personally, I'm not ready for a complete takeover by high waisted bottoms. Tell me though, what's your opinion on the high waisted trend? Should we completely change to them, or no?

Re-invent

Just a quick hello!! Casual, flowy outfits are simply the best sometimes, aren't they? I know the high-low trend died out a bit, but I didn't want to put this skirt to waste. I think high-low can still be appropriate for beach attire or those wonderful days for just slumping around and enjoying a chill afternoon :)

All about...

Hello! I hope you're all having a nice weekend. This dress is all about fit -- something we all love to see in a dress! The best thing about clothes is that we can buy certain pieces to compliment our body, rather than change our body to compliment the outfit.  I felt that this dress was very fitting to any body shape, so I couldn't resist buying it. So the next time you're shopping, focus on how great your body is, and only pick clothing that will show it justice ~ never change your body!

What's in my bag?

Envelope clutch: 
This bag giveaway wouldn't be the same without... giving away the bag! This clutch is so versatile, lightweight, spring-colored, and perfect! It goes with so many outfits, and it's perfect for the approaching summer months.

Dry Shampoo:
Why haven't I used this up until now? It is amazing! When summer rolls through and humidity strikes, my hair can go from pin straight to frizzy tarzan-esque hair in a matter of an hour. My hair also loses its volume easily... Can anyone else relate to this problem? Anyway, with dry shampoo, I've been able to simply spray it on whenever my hair turns to the dark ages (natural) and I'm on my way! I always carry it in my bag. The best part is you can use it to add volume. A cool trick I use is I create a deep side part and spray along the part line. Then I work my way around my head with two deep side parts, two mid-side parts, and one middle part, spraying directly on the part line each time. After this I tease my hair a little, and it is completely volumized! Voila! 

Nivea Lip Balm:
Although it's an arbitrary favorite for the month, this stuff is great! For those of you who despise having chapped lips, this is the type of lip balm that glides on like butter. It's moisturizing, delicious, and gives off a glossy pigmentation. I love the color, too. It's a pearly pink, which I've always found to be very difficult to find.

Redemption

Do you ever have one of those days where you're just searching for a redemption? That would be today for me. (I think I found it....in a way) But seriously, they're not joking when they say May is a busy month. I can't keep up with it! I'm just looking forward to June as my redemption to all of the stress and chaos that this month has been bringing! I hope you all find your redemption somehow too:)
